Training

WCHRI offers a number of different training sessions throughout the month:

All our training sessions are currently held online and are open to researchers from the University of Alberta and their collaborators. Scheduled dates for these sessions are on the events page of the WCHRI website. We ask that you register in advance using this form.

Please note: At this time we are not offering in-person advanced sessions. If you are interested in learning more about advanced REDCap features or if you require project-specific advice please register to attend one of our drop-in sessions or check out the video linked below.

Introduction to REDCap

Usually held once a month this hour-long session covers REDCap basics. It covers topics such as the user interface and creating data collection instruments using the Online Designer. It also touches on more advanced topics such as the Data Dictionary.

Drop-in Sessions

The concept behind the drop-in sessions is that they provide a time when our users can "drop-in" to the office for a one-on-one consultation. Now held online through Zoom, they provide an opportunity for REDCap 'developers' to meet with a member of our support team to talk through an area of REDCap functionality or gain project-specific advice.

Advanced REDCap: Survey Management

Held less frequently, this session covers more advanced features such as automated survey invitations and the Survey Queue. We recommend it for anyone who is planning on collecting data directly from the study participants.

Advanced REDCap: Longitudinal studies

This session covers more detail pertaining to longitudinal study setup, including the configuration of study events.
